Welcome to the Life Warrior Blog! Over the next couple months, we will explore what the Life Warrior program is and how it can help people discover a life of purpose and intensity in a world where we are becoming more and more comfortable and ensconced in technology.
But first, today, I want to explore the basic concept of a life warrior and how that might apply to your day to day life. Let me begin with how I came up with the idea of LWC in the first place.
After spending almost a decade of my career as a personal trainer, I was riding my bike to work when I realized something. I realized that the reason I had lost almost 100 pounds 10 years earlier, and kept it off, was not because I had subscribed to any fitness program or to any specific trend or methodology. The reason I had lost so much weight and maintained that loss for so long was because I had made some very intense mental and physical shifts in my mindset and lifestyle.
There, on that ride, began the journey of Life Warrior and my attempt to bottle up whatever it was that had helped me make those shifts...and, hopefully, deliver those same results to other people. Little did I know how difficult my journey would be and how much I had to learn in order to deliver on these thoughts and intentions.
It took over 3 years of isolation in a studio as well as some immense confrontations with my own demons/ego before I could even begin to truly help others follow the path of a life warrior, which entails following a journey of self-discovery and self-confrontation beyond what most people are willing to take on.
Without going into detail on those years (stay tuned for future blog posts and podcasts to hear these stories), here is the definition of a life warrior that I discovered.
